Frosted Floral DSP meets Hanging Garden

Hi Friends,

Today I want to show you how easy a few card techniques can be used to  make a very pretty Stampin’ Up! card!

First I took a piece of Crumb Cake card stock as my base.

Next I took a piece of Crumb Cake ( 1/4′ smaller by length and width of the base) and stamped, in Early Expresso ink,  the words “Thank You Kindly” from the Hanging Garden stamp set.

NEXT –magic with the Subtles Embossing Folder!I ( one of MY NEW FAVORITES!)

Take a look at the ‘subtle’ yet textured look of that layer.

Can you see the fine lines? Makes me think of fine wale corduroy.

Next I took a piece of Soft Suede card stock and used the Layering Squares Framelits, with my Big Shot,  cut 3 squares.

Then I took a piece of the Frosted Floral DSP ( LOVE the colors and the fine shimmer!!!) and made 3 smaller squares.

Of course I used Snail to adhere all 3 pieces of DSP to the card stock.

Then I arranged the squares on the embossed layer.

To add just a bit of interest, I used 3 enamel shapes in the lower right hand corner.

There you have it…3 easy techniques:
1. Using the Subtles Embossing Folder

2. Using the Layering Squares Framelits

3. Adding a few embellishments.

Three simple ways to make a card –make it YOUR own and send it with love!

You could make a boxed set of these for a gift!

Simple stamping… as easy as 1,2, 3

Hi Friends,

I just cam back from OnStage in Orlando.

One of the re-visited ideas is to take a look at simpler stamping.

What does THAT mean?

Well, simply, it means to keep your design impressive yet easy..

Here is a card we did at my Monday class.

I LOVE ( I know I’ve said this before, but I do LOVE the Foil -Edged Silver and Gold Paper and envelopes.

They are so easy to use and VERY VERSATILE.

So for this card, I used the Gold Edged Paper and then added a layer of Rich Razzleberry card stock.

Next I cut a piece of the Sweet Soiree DSP ( yes it’s retired but I just had to use it!) and layered it on top.

That paper is gorgeous and it was just enough to give the card some simple elegance.

See how nicely the layer of Rich Razzleberry fits on top of the Gold-Edged card base? Then add the DSP and oh so pretty.

Inside I added a message from the Cake Soiree stamp set –and voila–done deal!

You could use ANY DSP for any occasion. These card and envelope packs are a great deal and fun to use!

What do YOU think?

Now I’m not sure if I’ll be able to control my urges to use more layers and embellishments but every once in a while we’ll do some ‘simple stamping’.

How does that sound to you?

Please let me know your thoughts about simpler, easier stamping.. I aim to please and need YOUR input!

Stampin’ Up! Thanksgiving card

Hi Friends,

I do love the Fall!

The smell of autumn is intoxicating to me.

I love the colors which tell me the summer has worked very hard…now is time for the leaves to ‘rest’.

So when I saw this Stampin’ UP! Falling For Leaves stamp set, I knew I had to have it!

Here is my very own version of a card I will be excited to send.

The base is Merry Merlot and the next layer is Old Olive.

I embossed the Very Vanilla layer with the NEW Subtles Dynamic Embossing Folder.

You can’t  see the impressions…. well because it’s ‘subtle’ but in real life, it is VERY nice.

It adds just enough texture to give it some extra ‘subtle’ attention!

Next I took the leaf stamps and using Old Olive, Merry Merlot and Cajun Craze inks, stamped then cut them out with the Thinlits.

Then for just a bit of pizzazz, I took Old Olive ribbon and Linen Thread to make a small bow. This was attached with a Glue Dot.

In the opposite corner I just had to add a Gold Faceted gem.

The message was layered onto a piece of Merry Merlot and adhered with Dimensionals. AND of COURSE I just had to use a bit of Wink of Stella –here and there for interest. To me, Wink of Stella is a must fro any project–it adds a sparkle of interest!

Stampin’ Up! Thinking of You card

Hi Friends,

This week I’m in Orlando for our 30 year Stampin’ Up! Celebration convention!

One of the FUN things we do is create cards to swap with other Demonstrators ( over 5000 of us!!!)

This is one Swap card I designed.

I used Gray Granite as the base –such a subtle color –I LOVE it!

The next layer is Coastal Cabana embossed with the Layering Leaves Folder.

Then I took a piece of the Silver Foil card stock and layered Frosted Floral DSP on top of that.

Those papers are soooooo beautiful–one side has a muted shimmery appearance to it. GORGEOUS!

The Silver Foil paper makes the designer paper really POP!

SO I swapped these with my house mates  and I’ll show you what I received in return when I’m back in Massachusetts.

I’m SURE I’ll have some gorgeous cards to share with all of you!

Stampin’ Up! Signs of Santa

Hi Friends,

Ho-ho-HO! This adorable Stampin’ Up! stamp set Signs of Santa makes me LAUGH!

Here is the card I made all by myself! HA HA HA!

Stampin' Up! Signs of Santa card

FIrst, I love the expressions on ALL the elves and Mr and Mrs Claus!

Look at this little impish elf!

He’s popped up with a few Dimensionals.

I LOVE the predominant color palette – Poppy Parade and Garden Green. Festive and bright!

It was fun making this one by using the Santa’s Signpost Framelits and the Santa’s Workshop DSP.

My message was used with the Silver Foil Paper and the Merry Christmas Thinlit Dies.

Yet another option for holiday cards!

I hope you like it and if you have any questions, please contact me!

Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Blizzard

Hi Friends,

Once my mind has accepted the fact that snow is tight around my corner, I DO get excited about pretty snowy cards!

AND THIS IS ONE!

I used Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Whisper White card stock.

Stamping with a variety of the snowflake stamps and both corresponding inks was fun –it was completely random!

You can see the shimmery snowflakes?

I used the Blizzard Thinlit Die with Sparkle Glimmer Paper!

Of course you can see the Rhinestone Jewel in the center of a few of the snowflakes–a little extra bling!

If you’d like to make these please contact me or go to my online store by clicking on any product below.
